How to play
How do I drive and dig?
Put your finger anywhere on the screen and drag – a joystick appears under your finger. Push left, right or down into the ground and your machine drills through it. Push up in an open tunnel to climb with the thruster; while you're in the air, push left or right to hover sideways. Machines can't drill upwards.
How do I get coins?
Dig out the sparkling cells to find treasure – where there is one sparkle, a gold vein often hides more nearby. Even plain rock sometimes hides a lucky surprise. Everything you find rides in your cart (shown under your coins) and is turned into coins when you drive back up to the surface.
What does fuel do?
Driving, climbing and drilling use fuel; harder rock uses more. The white mark on the fuel gauge shows how much fuel the way home needs – when the gauge turns red, head back up. Driving on the surface is free and your tank refills there. If you run out of fuel underground, the rescue crew tows you up and keeps half your cart.
What is the SOS button?
Underground, SOS asks whether to call the rescue crew – for example if you've dug yourself into a corner. If you call them, you're towed to the surface and the crew keeps half your cart, just like running out of fuel. Tap Cancel to keep digging.
How does the elevator work?
There is an elevator station every 50 m, at the left edge of the mine. When you first dig down to a station's depth, it unlocks. From then on, tap the elevator button on the surface to ride straight down to it, and tap Ride up in a station to go back to the surface and cash in your cart.
Why can't I dig through some rock?
Each machine can only break ground up to a certain hardness. Ground your machine can't break looks darker and shows a small padlock. The shop shows what each machine digs up to – buy a stronger machine to reach deeper layers.
Can I start a new dig site?
Yes. In the shop, tap Start a new dig site for fresh ground with all its treasure back. Your coins, machines and upgrades stay.
Can I make the game easier or harder?
Yes. In the shop, pick Relaxed, Normal or Hard. Relaxed gives bigger fuel tanks, gentler hazards and keeps the sand worm deep down; Hard has smaller tanks, nastier hazards, a hungrier worm and a greedier rescue crew.
Do the machines sound different?
Yes – every machine has its own engine, its own horn and its own instrument for the little tune you play while digging.
Hazards
What are gas and lava pockets?
Some cells hide a gas pocket (from 24 m down) or a lava pocket (in the deep magma layer). Digging into one costs part of your fuel. Look closely: gas cells bubble faintly and lava cells glow.
How do falling boulders work?
A boulder falls when you dig out the cell under it. It wobbles first, giving you a moment to get out of the way. If it lands on your machine it costs some fuel and makes your driver dizzy for a second.
What is the sand worm?
Below 60 m, a sand worm sometimes chews straight across the mine. A red warning sign, rumbling and shaking ground give you about two seconds to get out of its row. If it catches you, it swallows your cart (your banked coins are safe) and spits you out on the surface. Elevator stations are safe from it.
What do dynamite crates do?
From 40 m down you may find a dynamite crate. Digging it out lights a short fuse, then it blasts a shaft up to four cells straight up – collecting any treasure on the way and defusing gas or lava. Handy, because machines can't drill upwards.
Purchases
What is free, and what is Little Diggers Plus?
The whole game is free: every machine, upgrade and layer can be earned by playing, and there are no ads. Little Diggers Plus is an optional one-time in-app purchase that doubles the coins from every find. It is not a subscription and never renews.
I bought Plus but it's not unlocked. What should I do?
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it and that you're online. Then open the purchase screen (the crown button on the surface) and tap Restore Purchases.
I have a new iPhone. Do I need to buy again?
No. Install Little Diggers, sign in with the same Apple Account, and tap Restore Purchases on the purchase screen. You will not be charged again.
How do I get a refund?
All payments are handled by Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't have access to your payment details and can't issue refunds directly.
A purchase says it's waiting for approval.
If Ask to Buy is turned on for your account, a family organiser needs to approve the purchase. Little Diggers Plus unlocks automatically as soon as it's approved.
Progress and data
Is my progress saved?
Yes, your coins, machines, upgrades, collection and dig site are saved on your iPhone. They are not synced between devices, and deleting the app deletes them. Your Plus purchase is linked to your Apple Account, so it can always be restored.
Does the game need an internet connection?
No, you can play offline. An internet connection is only needed to buy or restore Little Diggers Plus.
Can I turn the sound off?
Yes. The speaker button on the surface turns sound on and off, and the shop has a volume slider. The game also follows your iPhone's silent switch.
Do you collect any data about me?
No. Little Diggers has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. See our Privacy Policy for details.
